Native to stream banks and woodland seeps, it emerges in spring with pink-tinged flower clusters before the foliage fully unfolds, adding early seasonal interest to damp garden areas.

This moisture-loving perennial works well beside ponds, in bog gardens, along shaded streams, and in any consistently wet border where its architectural foliage can be showcased. The broad leaves form a dense, weed-suppressing canopy through the growing season and take on warm autumn tones before dormancy.
Species: Peltiphyllum peltatum
Variety: Species
Type: Herbaceous perennial
Plant_Habit: Clump-forming, rhizomatous
Sun: Part shade to full shade
Soil: Moist to wet, humus-rich
Days_to_Harvest: Not applicable
Zones: 4-8
Germination: Cold stratification recommended; surface sow and keep moist
Sowing: Sow on moist medium, press lightly, do not bury deeply
Spacing: 24-36 inches
Notes: Best in consistently moist sites; foliage dies back in winter

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0717/4648/6408/files/download_5ba72b9b-c503-4f94-bb94-a2e129c2d3c6.png?v=1791896552
https://www.natesgardensupply.com/products/5-seeds-peltiphyllum-peltatum-umbrella-plant-moisture-loving-perennial
