It is a warm-climate species valued by gardeners for its attractive palmate foliage and its ability to rapidly cover trellises, pergolas, and fences with lush green growth. Each seed offers an opportunity to grow a unique, fast-developing vine suited to tropical and subtropical gardens.

This vine performs well as an ornamental screen or accent on sturdy supports and produces small aerial bulbils along the stems as it matures. Its underground tubers have traditional culinary uses in regions where the species is established, and the twining stems make an interesting addition to tropical plant collections. Provide a strong structure for climbing and plenty of warmth for best growth.
Species: Dioscorea pentaphylla
Variety: Not applicable
Type: Tropical perennial climbing vine
Plant_Habit: Twining, vining
Sun: Full sun to partial shade
Soil: Well-draining, fertile, slightly acidic to neutral
Days_to_Harvest: Not applicable
Zones: 9-11
Germination: 2-6 weeks at 70-85F
Sowing: Sow 1/4 to 1/2 inch deep in moist, well-draining medium
Spacing: 12-24 inches
Notes: Provide a trellis or support for climbing stems

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0717/4648/6408/files/download_a907c244-6140-431c-9320-b0268b075a1f.png?v=1791896328
https://www.natesgardensupply.com/products/5-seeds-dioscorea-pentaphylla-fiveleaf-yam-vine-tropical-climbing-tuber
