This California-native species brings a soft, airy texture to native plantings, meadow gardens, and dry borders, and its upright bloom spikes rise above the ferny leaves for a graceful, natural look.
Use it in native landscapes, pollinator gardens, xeriscape plantings, and informal meadow settings where its delicate form can naturalize. It is a herbaceous perennial that dies back in summer dormancy and returns from a fleshy root system. The flowers are excellent for cut arrangements and contrast well with purple, blue, and white bloomers. Allow spent flowers to mature if seed collection is desired.
Species: Dicentra chrysantha
Variety: Not applicable
Type: Native perennial wildflower
Plant_Habit: Upright clumping herbaceous perennial
Sun: Full sun to light shade
Soil: Well-drained, sandy or rocky, low fertility
Days_to_Harvest: Not applicable
Zones: 7-10
Germination: Surface sow; light aids germination; 60-70F
Sowing: Sow on moist medium, press lightly, do not bury deeply
Spacing: 18-24 inches
Notes: Summer dormant; avoid excess moisture when dormant

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0717/4648/6408/files/download_7ba5816d-a6d5-42a5-b41c-b30713fe556c.png?v=1791896194
https://www.natesgardensupply.com/products/5-seeds-dicentra-chrysantha-yellow-dicentra-native-perennial
