5-seeds-acer-oblongum-evergreen-maple-tree
5 Seeds Acer oblongum Evergreen Maple Tree

Acer oblongum, commonly called the evergreen maple, is a semi-evergreen to evergreen maple species valued for its handsome foliage and upright, rounded canopy. Its leaves emerge with a bronze to reddish tint before maturing to a deep green, offering multi-season interest for temperate landscapes and collectors of unusual maple species. This listing is for 5 seeds of Acer oblongum, an excellent choice for gardeners seeking a distinctive tree with year-round foliage in mild climates. New growth carries a soft bronze flush before settling into rich green, giving the tree a quietly changing presence across the seasons. It suits those who appreciate maples beyond the familiar deciduous types and want something with lasting foliage character.
Evergreen maple works well as a specimen tree, in mixed borders, or in larger Asian-style and woodland plantings, where its rounded crown and dense leaves provide structure. It can also be grown in a large container while young, then planted out once established. Seeds benefit from a period of cold stratification before sowing to improve even germination. With patience and steady moisture, seedlings develop into graceful small to medium trees. The foliage color and form make it a rewarding long-term garden subject for growers in suitable zones.
Species: Acer oblongum
Type: Tree
Plant_Habit: Upright, rounded canopy
Sun: Full sun to partial shade
Soil: Well-draining, fertile loam
Zones: 8-10
Germination: Cold stratify 4-8 weeks, then sow at 1/4 inch depth
Sowing: Indoors or outdoors after stratification
Spacing: 20-30 feet apart
Notes: Semi-evergreen to evergreen in mild climates

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0717/4648/6408/files/download_86083f33-fb6b-4ae9-973c-5e0b81e0ee82.png?v=1791896197
