It produces clusters of small white flowers in late winter to early spring, followed by drooping purple-blue fruits that are enjoyed by birds and other wildlife. Its upright, multi-stemmed habit and bright green foliage make it an appealing addition to naturalized areas, hedgerows, and woodland gardens.

This shrub works well in native plant landscapes, wildlife gardens, and informal hedges. The foliage turns soft yellow in autumn, adding seasonal interest. Plants typically grow as understory shrubs in moist, well-drained soils and can tolerate partial shade to full sun with adequate moisture. Seeds are best sown in autumn for natural cold stratification, or stratified artificially before spring sowing.

Species: Oemleria cerasiformis
Type: Deciduous shrub
Plant_Habit: Upright, multi-stemmed
Sun: Full sun to partial shade
Soil: Moist, well-drained
Zones: 6-9
Germination: Cold stratification recommended
Sowing: Sow in autumn or stratify 60-90 days before spring sowing
Spacing: 6-10 feet apart
Notes: Dioecious; plant multiple for best fruit set

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0717/4648/6408/files/il_fullxfull.7974624112_3if7_0b91b28c-c255-4b86-bd33-d418b39f094a.jpg?v=1791899174
https://www.natesgardensupply.com/products/30-seeds-indian-plum-oemleria-cerasiformis-ornamental-native-shrub-white-flowers-wildlife-garden
