Its clusters of single pink flowers appear in early summer, followed by small red hips that add winter interest, while the semi-evergreen foliage turns shades of bronze and purple in autumn.
This vigorous rose works well trained along fences, trellises, and arbors, or allowed to sprawl as a loose hedge or barrier planting. It tolerates a range of soils and is a useful choice for pollinator-friendly and low-maintenance landscapes. The flowers offer nectar for bees and other beneficial insects, and the hips provide food for birds through the colder months.
Species: Rosa setigera
Type: Deciduous to semi-evergreen climbing shrub
Plant_Habit: Arching, spreading, climbing
Sun: Full sun to partial shade
Soil: Well-drained loam, sandy or clay soils; tolerates average fertility
Zones: 4 to 8
Germination: Cold stratification recommended; sow outdoors in fall or stratify 8 to 12 weeks before sowing
Sowing: Surface sow and lightly cover with 1/8 inch of soil; keep consistently moist
Spacing: 6 to 10 feet apart
Notes: Prune after flowering to shape and control spread

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0717/4648/6408/files/il_fullxfull.7620154903_lp07_14fed4ef-b3e9-485c-9e02-52ec69eacd40.jpg?v=1791898598
https://www.natesgardensupply.com/products/30-seeds-illinois-rose-rosa-setigera-native-climbing-rose-prairie-shrub
