This purple-flowering selection produces single blooms with prominent stamens from midsummer into early autumn, extending color into the garden when many other shrubs have finished. Supplied as bare root starter plants, they establish readily and grow into reliable, long-lived shrubs.

These versatile shrubs work beautifully as flowering hedges, mixed border anchors, or standalone specimen plants in perennial gardens and cottage-style landscapes. The blooms attract pollinators, and the foliage remains a clean green backdrop through the season before turning yellow in autumn. Space plants to allow good air movement, water consistently during establishment, and prune in late winter or early spring to encourage vigorous new growth and heavy flowering.
Species: Hibiscus syriacus
Variety: Purple
Type: Deciduous flowering shrub
Plant_Habit: Upright, vase-shaped
Sun: Full sun to partial shade
Soil: Well-drained, average fertility
Days_to_Harvest: Not applicable
Zones: 5-9
Germination: Not applicable
Sowing: Not applicable
Spacing: 6-8 feet apart
Notes: Blooms midsummer to early autumn; prune in late winter or early spring

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0717/4648/6408/files/download_952a8337-7239-48d4-8de8-4776cee7c4e8.png?v=1791897609
https://www.natesgardensupply.com/products/3-purple-rose-of-sharon-starter-plants-althea-hibiscus-bare-root
