This starter plug arrives as a young, actively growing plant ready to establish in a garden bed or container, making it a practical choice for home growers who want a head start on a fruiting patch without dealing with thorny canes. The thornless canes make pruning, training, and harvesting far more comfortable than traditional blackberry varieties.
Grown for its ornamental value as well as its culinary fruit, Apache Thornless Blackberry produces white to pale pink blooms in spring that give way to sweet, flavorful berries in summer. The upright habit suits trellising, fence lines, or patio containers, and the plant adapts well to a range of garden settings. Harvest berries when they turn deep black and pull free easily from the cane for fresh eating, baking, preserves, and freezing.
Species: Rubus fruticosus
Variety: Apache
Type: Thornless blackberry
Plant_Habit: Upright, erect canes
Sun: Full sun
Soil: Well-draining, slightly acidic loam
Days_to_Harvest: Fruit in summer, typically 1 to 2 years after planting
Zones: 5 to 9
Germination: Not applicable
Sowing: Not applicable
Spacing: 3 to 4 feet apart
Notes: Starter plug; thornless canes; prune spent floricanes after harvest

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0717/4648/6408/files/download_c684c21f-26a1-4e79-81cc-f45606687f41.png?v=1791897605
https://www.natesgardensupply.com/products/3-live-plant-apache-thornless-blackberry-starter-plug-rubus-fruticosus
