Plants stay tidy and reach only about 12 to 18 inches tall, making them an excellent choice for borders, edging, wildflower patches, and container gardens. The cheerful flowers appear over a long season and are a classic favorite for fresh bouquets and dried arrangements.
The blooms are prized for cut flowers, retaining their color well when dried, and the plants naturalize readily when blooms are left to set seed. Sow seed directly where plants are to grow, as cornflower resents transplanting, and provide moderate moisture while establishing. For a continuous show, make small succession sowings every few weeks through early summer.
Species: Centaurea cyanus
Variety: Dwarf Blue
Type: Annual
Plant Habit: Upright, compact, clumping
Sun: Full sun to partial shade
Soil: Well-drained, average fertility
Days to Harvest: 60 to 75 days from sowing
Zones: 2 to 11 as an annual
Germination: 7 to 14 days at 65 to 70F
Sowing: Direct sow 1/8 inch deep after last frost
Spacing: 6 to 12 inches apart
Notes: Deadhead to prolong bloom; leave some flowers to reseed

https://www.natesgardensupply.com/products/200-seeds-dwarf-blue-cornflower-bachelor-button-centaurea-cyanus-annual-flower
