20-seeds-onion-maui-sweet-bulbing-vegetable-garden
20 Seeds Onion Maui Sweet Bulbing Vegetable Garden

Maui Sweet Onion is a short-day bulbing onion known for its large, mild, sweet flavor and reliable performance in warm climates. It produces thick, glossy green tops and develops rounded, golden-bronze bulbs that store reasonably well when cured properly. This variety is a favorite among home gardeners who want a dependable, versatile onion for everyday cooking. A classic short-day variety, Maui Sweet performs best when grown in regions with mild winters and long summer days. The sweet, mild bulbs are excellent for fresh slicing, salads, burgers, and grilling, and they also work well in soups, stews, and sautés. Onions can be harvested young as green onions or left to mature into full-sized bulbs. Their upright growth habit makes them suitable for garden beds, raised planters, and container growing.

Species: Allium cepa
Variety: Maui Sweet
Type: Bulbing onion, short-day
Plant_Habit: Upright, clumping
Sun: Full sun
Soil: Well-drained, fertile, loose soil
Days_to_Harvest: 100 to 120 days from seed
Zones: 7 to 10 for fall planting; adaptable in other zones with proper timing
Germination: 7 to 14 days at 65 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit
Sowing: Start indoors 8 to 10 weeks before transplanting, or direct sow when soil is workable
Spacing: 4 to 6 inches between plants, 12 to 18 inches between rows
Notes: Short-day variety forms bulbs when daylight reaches about 10 to 12 hours; cure bulbs in a dry, ventilated area before storage

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0717/4648/6408/files/download_7d24d971-320b-4ce6-b81c-4956b47c77d5.png?v=1791896553
