The flowers range in warm shades of yellow, orange, and reddish-bronze, adding color and interest to the landscape during an otherwise quiet season.
This shrub works well in mixed borders, woodland gardens, hedgerows, and naturalized areas, where its spreading habit and seasonal display can be appreciated. The blooms carry a light, sweet fragrance, and the foliage turns attractive shades of yellow in autumn. It is a long-lived, low-maintenance selection for temperate gardens.
Species: Hamamelis vernalis
Type: Deciduous flowering shrub
Plant_Habit: Upright, spreading, multi-stemmed
Sun: Full sun to partial shade
Soil: Moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soil
Zones: 4-8
Germination: Seeds benefit from cold stratification; sow in moist medium and provide a cold period to improve germination
Sowing: Sow in autumn outdoors or stratify in a refrigerator before spring sowing
Spacing: 10-15 feet apart
Notes: Slow to moderate grower; blooms on bare wood in late winter to early spring

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0717/4648/6408/files/download_caa19893-71dc-40fd-a15c-b5dcdb65cf6e.png?v=1791898052
https://www.natesgardensupply.com/products/15-seeds-vernal-witch-hazel-hamamelis-vernalis-fragrant-winter-blooming-shrub
