It is a long-lived perennial that adds long-lasting color and texture to sunny, well-drained sites. Its nectar-rich flower clusters appear through summer and draw a wide range of pollinators. The gray-green foliage forms tidy, mounding clumps that fit well in rock gardens, borders, and native plantings.

This species is valued for its durability and drought tolerance once established. Use it in rock gardens, pollinator plantings, xeriscapes, or as a low-maintenance groundcover in tough, dry areas. Plants generally bloom from early to mid summer, with dried flower heads holding interest into fall. For best results, sow on the surface, as light aids germination, and keep the medium evenly moist until germination occurs.
Species: Eriogonum umbellatum
Type: Herbaceous perennial
Plant_Habit: Low mounding clumps
Sun: Full sun
Soil: Well-drained, sandy or gravelly, low fertility
Days_to_Harvest: Not applicable
Zones: 3 to 8
Germination: 14 to 30 days at 65 to 70F with light
Sowing: Surface sow, lightly press seeds in, do not bury deeply
Spacing: 12 to 18 inches
Notes: Drought tolerant once established; suitable for rock gardens and pollinator plantings

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0717/4648/6408/files/il_fullxfull.7854332591_buy3_3d5b320a-10bf-4a67-9dbd-74526fcb3f7c.jpg?v=1791898727
https://www.natesgardensupply.com/products/100-sulfurflower-seeds-eriogonum-umbellatum-heirloom-native-wildflower-rock-garden
