It forms tidy clumps that return year after year, making it a rewarding choice for herb gardens, borders, and container growing. Both the foliage and the blooms are valued in the kitchen, and the plants are easy to grow from seed with minimal fuss.

The leaves offer a mild garlic-onion flavor that works well in stir-fries, dumplings, soups, omelets, and salads, while the edible flowers make an attractive garnish. Plants grow in upright clumps and bloom in late summer to early fall, drawing pollinators to the garden. Harvest leaves by cutting near the base to encourage fresh regrowth. Seeds can be started indoors or sown directly once soil has warmed.
Species: Allium tuberosum
Type: Perennial herb
Plant_Habit: Upright clumping
Sun: Full sun to partial shade
Soil: Well-drained, fertile loam
Days_to_Harvest: 80-90 from seed
Zones: 3-10
Germination: 10-14 days at 65-70F
Sowing: Surface sow, lightly cover, keep moist
Spacing: 12-18 inches apart
Notes: Also called garlic chives; edible leaves and flowers

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0717/4648/6408/files/il_fullxfull.7811053204_jrm1_24498c86-ee82-497b-907e-6f9985a5c6c8.jpg?v=1791898599
https://www.natesgardensupply.com/products/100-seeds-flowering-chinese-leek-allium-tuberosum-garlic-chives-vegetable-garden
