Once established, a single planting can produce a dependable spring harvest for many years, making it a rewarding long-term investment for the vegetable garden.\u003cbr\u003e\nThe young spears are excellent steamed, roasted, grilled, or added fresh to salads, while the feathery mature foliage adds an attractive textural accent to beds and borders. This variety is typically grown from seed and transplanted into a permanent bed, where it develops a robust crown system over the first few seasons before full harvests begin.
