This Australian native is prized for its striking silvery-blue, round to heart-shaped juvenile foliage, which is often used in floral arrangements and adds a unique texture and color to gardens or containers. As a fast-growing evergreen tree or large shrub, it brings a touch of aromatic, cool-toned elegance to sunny landscapes and is an excellent choice for cut foliage.

For ornamental use, grow this eucalyptus as a striking specimen tree, in a mixed border, or in a large pot where juvenile foliage can be regularly harvested for bouquets and crafts. It thrives in well-draining soil and full sun, and once established, it is relatively low-maintenance, handling dry conditions well. This plant is grown from seed, which requires stratification for best results; sow seeds on the surface of moist soil, keep warm and brightly lit, and transplant seedlings once they are sturdy.

Species: Eucalyptus pulverulenta
Variety: Silver Leaf Mountain Gum
Type: Ornamental evergreen tree/shrub
Plant_Habit: Upright, open canopy
Sun: Full sun
Soil: Well-draining, sandy to loamy
Zones: 8-11
Germination: Stratify seeds (cold moist) for 2-4 weeks, then sow at 65-75°F
Sowing: Surface sow on moist medium, do not cover; keep lightly moist
Spacing: 10-15 feet apart for trees; 3-5 feet for potted or hedged growth
Notes: Juvenile foliage is round and silver-blue; adult leaves become lance-shaped; drought tolerant once established

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0717/4648/6408/files/download_a24e5ff9-f039-40a0-b250-352c3a036412.png?v=1791895510
https://www.natesgardensupply.com/products/10-seeds-silver-leaf-mountain-gum-eucalyptus-pulverulenta-ornamental-foliage
