10-seeds-heimia-salicifolia-sun-opener-shrub
10 Seeds Heimia salicifolia Sun Opener Shrub

Heimia salicifolia, commonly called Sun Opener, is a slender deciduous shrub with narrow willow-like leaves and bright yellow flowers that appear through the warmer months. It brings a light, airy texture to borders, meadow plantings, and container arrangements, and its graceful form makes it a rewarding choice for gardeners who enjoy unusual flowering shrubs.
Grow it as an ornamental accent in a sunny bed or large patio pot, where its fine foliage contrasts nicely with broader-leafed companions. The cup-shaped yellow blooms open over a long season and are followed by small seed capsules. Sow seed on the surface of a moist, well-draining medium, keep it warm, and give seedlings steady light for even, healthy growth.
Species: Heimia salicifolia
Type: Deciduous flowering shrub
Plant_Habit: Upright to slightly spreading, 4 to 8 feet tall
Sun: Full sun to part shade
Soil: Well-draining, sandy to loamy, moderate moisture
Zones: 8 to 11
Germination: 14 to 30 days at 65 to 75F
Sowing: Surface sow, lightly press in, do not bury deeply
Spacing: 24 to 36 inches
Notes: Tolerates heat and periodic dryness once established

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0717/4648/6408/files/download_087620e6-f5d0-400d-b87b-3356f4c81f26.png?v=1791896682
