Developed as a perennial fruiting shrub, it performs well in home orchards and edible landscapes, offering an easy-to-manage option for growers who prefer a thornless caneberry.
The berries are ideal for fresh eating, pies, jams, cobblers, and freezing, holding their shape well after harvest. Plants produce primocanes and floricanes, with fruit forming on second-year canes; a season of establishment allows the root system to develop before full production begins. With routine pruning and a sunny site, Osage delivers reliable summer harvests.
Species: Rubus hybrid
Type: Thornless blackberry
Plant_Habit: Upright, erect canes
Sun: Full sun
Soil: Well-drained, slightly acidic loam
Days_to_Harvest: Fruit on second-year canes
Zones: 5-9
Germination: Not applicable
Sowing: Not applicable
Spacing: 4-6 feet between plants
Notes: Water regularly during establishment; prune spent floricanes after harvest

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0717/4648/6408/files/download_63bde97d-9c26-47b9-8780-7ee55f9ee4e0.png?v=1791897363
https://www.natesgardensupply.com/products/1-live-plant-osage-blackberry-thornless-rubus-hybrid-starter-plug
